What We Released in 2017 – The Year in Review

Don’t want to pull the Devil by the tail, but we can honestly say 2017 was another very successful year for the platform. Seven major updates were released, some bugs were squashed, numerous smaller features added, our team grew (including two cute babies), removed a few bugs more, and nearly a thousand events and awards were managed with Weemss.

Here are the more important things that happened with Weemss in 2017.

Weemss topped some rankings!

The platform was ranked fastest and 4th most user-friendly among 400+ event management solutions on Capterra – a site that helps businesses find the right software through a comprehensive list of solutions on the web. Quite an achievement really considering the sheer number of competing apps and services. Each event management system was tested on how long it takes to create and schedule an event, add contact, email contact, register contact, check-in attendee, and generate report. The average task completion time for all systems tested was 37 seconds, it took Weemss an average time of 25 seconds to perform each task.

Weemss was also awarded with the 2017 Rising Star Award and Great User Experience Award for event management software by FinancesOnline – one of the leading software review sites. The platform came out with a score of 8.0 out of 10 and a user satisfaction rating of 95% on the strength of its features and capabilities. The review team concluded that Weemss is designed to be extremely user-friendly and fast, with an intuitive interface that users can operate right away without any training. We made their top 10 event management software solutions list as well.

Registration form overhaul

We redesigned the Weemss front-end from scratch and made it better in every way! This update brought a modern new aesthetic to the registration form that attracts the attention and drives conversions. Whether you embed it into your site or use our integrated webpage creator, your customers will always be impressed.

There’s more awesomeness beyond these good looks. The new front-end uses the latest HTML technology, is optimized to load faster, and works on any personal or mobile device. We also added new customization options for the registration form, like switching between a light and dark skin, changing to a different font, and choosing the colors of your special offers, conversion triggers and accents.

Check-in app

Yeah, we released a check-in app that lets you scan tickets on-site using your phones and tablets. You don’t need to buy any additional hardware – simply download the app, available for both iOS and Android devices, and you are good to go! This was something that many of you asked about and we were very happy to deliver.

Seating chart improvements

This year saw two separate updates dedicated to improving various elements in the seating chart designer for our Reserved seating service. These included:

  • View from the seat function added
  • Improved highlighting of selected seats
  • Design sections from drawing
  • Improved row curving
  • Faster load times
  • Polygon-shaped general admission areas
  • Improvement of Labeling
  • Use keyboard keys as a drawing tool

Tax and custom tax application

Comprehensive tax settings and customization options were added to the platform. You can now set a tax to be applied during checkout. This makes it easier to automate invoicing by connecting Weemss to an accounting app like Xero, QuickBooks, Zoho Invoice, etc. When you add such an integration, the platform sends the tax as a separate sum to the invoicing solution you use.

Many smaller updates

In between major updates we released a lot of smaller ones. For example, we improved the webpage experience on mobile devices, added support for Facebook Pixel and Google’s Email markup features, made the registration form up to x3 times faster in certain scenarios, and gave you the option to use a different “Reply to” email address in communicating with your customers.

Hardware and software update

At the start of the year we did a massive infrastructure update. Without getting too technical, this increased the security, speed and reliability of the platform. We also did some software optimizations and improved the deployment process, which allows near-zero downtime when adding new features to the live version.
